There is a sweet called Jaffa cake. Jaffa Cake is a biscuit-sized cake introduced by McVitie and Price in the UK in 1927. The most common form of Jaffa cakes are circular, 2 1⁄8 inches (54 mm) in diameter and have three layers: a Genoise sponge base, a layer of orange-flavored jam, and a coating of chocolate (information from Wikipedia). And you can see a lot of Jaffa cake recipes on the internet, that most of then will come in a form of layered cake with orange-flavored filling and chocolate.
Anyway, today my cake does not come in a style of layered cake, but it has the same idea, as it contains cake, orange, and chocolate. My marble cake is easy to make, eat, and keep (if you can resist it, haha).
From the recipe, you will see that I add rice bran oil into the batter too. When adding oil into a dense texture cake such as butter or pound cake, your cake will be moister, and softer. Because the oil won't become solid when cool, it will prevent your cake to become hard when putting it in the fridge too.
Well, if you love chocolate and orange, I really want you to try this cute cake and hope you will love it too.

Hi,
ReplyDeleteDo we have to use bran oil? Or we can use normal vegetable/sunflower oil?
Thanks
