Choc A Block Trifle: 1 Chocolate 2 Chocolate and 3 Chocolate again!

Last week I baked chocolate cookies for my sister but because she had to hurry back to work (she came to stay with me for a while ^^), she forgot to take the whole box of cookies with her.

After I found out that she forgot, I thought "What should I do with it!!!!" Well, it not hard for me, hehe, because I have a recipe that I want to make a long time ago "Choc A Block Trifle". I find this recipe in the book: ABC delicious "Sweet", but didn't have a chance to make it. The original recipe calls for brownies but I think soft chocolate cookie will do.
The Trifle has 4 layers starting from chocolate sauce with cookies (that had been soaked with coffee liqueur), white chocolate custard, whipped cream with walnut and white chocolate and the last one is the chocolate curls.
I think it will be welcomed by every chocoholic ^^. The mixture of dark chocolate with a bit of white is quite interesting, the result is a trifle that's not too sweet or not too bitter, as long as you eat everything together, :) The chocolate sauce is quite firm but you can use a spoon to cut into it, and when eating with other part it give a contrast effect.
So, if you have a little party this weekend, serving this chocolately trifle will be a great idea too (at least, in my opinion, haha).

Choc A Block Trifle
Serve 4

115g .................................... Brownies or soft chocolate cookies, cut into small pieces
20ml ................................... Kahlua, or other coffee liqueur
95g ...................................... Dark Chocolate, roughly chopped
1 ........................................... Egg yolk
½ tbsp ................................ Sugar
½ tsp ................................... Corn flour
220ml .................................. Whipping cream
50g ....................................... White chocolate
10g ....................................... Toasted walnuts
............................................... Dark chocolate curls , for decorating

Place the brownies or chocolate cookies in the bottom of the serving glasses.
Drizzle over the Kahlua (about 1tsp/glass), set aside.
Melt the dark chocolate by placing in a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of gently simmering water (don't let the bowl touch the water).
Remove from the heat and add 80ml boiling water (little by little), string to make a sauce.
Pour sauce over the brownies, then cover with plastic warp and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Meanwhile beat the egg yolk, sugar and corn flour together until pale.
Boil 100 ml of the whipping cream, then pour the hot cream over the egg mixture and stir to combine.
Place the pan over low heat, Stir for 2-3 minutes until a think custard forms.
Put 35g of the white chocolate into the custard, stir to combine.
Cool completely then pour over the chocolate brownie base.
Chill for 2 hours.
Place the remaining 15g of white chocolate and walnut into a food processor, process until fine.
Whip the remaining 120ml of whipping cream to soft peaks, stir in the walnut and white chocolate, then spread over the trifle.
Chill for 2 hours. Decorate with chocolate curls before serving.
