No Yeast Easy Flatbread

Do you love Indian food?

I really love eating it, lately, my family members start enjoying it too.
You can eat this thick curry with rice, but flatbread is another good choice ^^. Today the recipe that I make is a simple and very easy kind of flatbread, you don't any special pieces of equipment, technique, or oven, plus you don't need yeast too.

The important part of making it is kneading the milk and flour until fully combined before adding the shortening and you will get the good texture bread as the fat (shortening) will prevent gluten from developing.
Resting the dough is important too, as it will make the dough relaxing and it will be easier to roll. The thickness of the dough will make the texture of the bread different too, so make it smaller if you want chewier bread ^^.
This easy bread can be used in many ways, eating with curry, filled to make a wrap, or topping it with pasta sauce and pizza cheese (this is the way that I love to use the leftover bread) to make thin pizza.

Makes 6

250 g ............................. All-purpose flour
1 tsp .............................. Baking powder
1/2 tsp .......................... Salt
150-160 ml .................. Milk
35 g .............................. King Rice bran oil shortening

Put the flour, baking powder, and salt into a bowl, whisk to combine.

Pour the milk into the bowl, mix to combine.

Knead for 2-3 minutes, then remove from the bowl.

I use King Rice bran oil shortening.

Mix the King Rice bran oil shortening into the dough, and knead for 8 minutes.

 The dough will be smooth.

Wrap with plastic, let it rest for 30 minutes.

 Cut into 6 equal pieces.

Roll each piece into a ball.

Cover the remaining dough with a damp cloth.

Roll the dough with a rolling pin, if it shrinks rest for 5 minutes between rolling.

 Roll into a 20-23cm round.

Place a frying pan over low heat.

Cook the bread for 1-2 minutes on both sides.

Ready to enjoy!
