Shrimp Doria (Rice with white sauce and shrimp)

Doria is a rice dish that made from cooked rice and white sauce.

Think about it as white sauce lasagna but we just use rice instead of the lasagna sheet ^^. It's very easy dish plus you can use many kinds of topping, simple things like sausage or ham are good option, and it doesn't require much working time.
This time, I use Thai long grain rice (ข้าวเจ้าเกษตร), it's not the same as Jasmine rice as it will stay in shape and not as soft as Jasmine rice, so it will be able to absorb a lot of liquid too. Anyway, you can use other kind of rice too, ^^.
You don't need large oven to bake the doria, as it already cooked, just grill it or bake in oven toaster to melt the cheese, and you will be ready to enjoy this delicious and homey dish.

70-80 g ........................................ Pizza cheese (35-40g/ 1 dish)

I use Thai long grain rice.

Put rice in a bowl and pour water into the bowl, mix quickly to remove some extra starch.
 Drain the rice.
Pour the rice and 240-270ml of water into the rice cooker.
Cook the rice (standard cook).

Place a pan over heat, put the butter into the pan.
After the butter melt, pour the onion into the pan, and add the bacon.
Cook until lightly golden.

Put the shrimps into the pan, cook until shrimp started to color.
Pour the flour into the pan, and stir to mix.
Cook for 1 minute.

Add the milk in 3-4 additions (stir well after each addition).

Season the sauce with ketchup, salt, pepper and half of Bouillon cube.

 Cook until slightly thicken.

Spoon the rice into 2 deep dishes.

Pour the white sauce over the rice.

Place the tomatoes over the rice, and sprinkle cheese on top.

Bake in oven toaster for 10-15 minutes.

Until golden brown.
Serve hot and enjoy!
