This is one of the recipes that many people ask for "Red Velvet Brownies". With red and white color, this brownie is so cute. Actually, it's a cocoa brownie with cream cheese topping, but we make it special by adding red food coloring. For the red color, it depends on what kind of color that you use, I use extra red, so I need only 1/2 tsp of it (and you can see that mine is sooooooo red ^^).
For myself, I don't have any plan, haha. But I still don't want to stop the sweetness of this month, so the sweet recipe will go on until the end of February (and I hope you enjoy the ideas).
Note: Don't forget to let the brownie cool completely before cutting, so you will get a clean cut.
Red Velvet Brownies
Make 20x20 cm
Brownies
125g ............................................. Unsalted butter, melted
190g ............................................. Granulated sugar
2 ................................................... Eggs
1-2 tsp .......................................... Red food coloring
1tsp .............................................. Vinegar
1tsp .............................................. Vanilla extract
95g ............................................... All-purpose flour
20g ............................................... Cocoa powder
...................................................... Pinch of salt
30g ............................................... Walnuts, chopped
Cream cheese topping
225g ............................................ Cream cheese
45g .............................................. Granulated sugar
1 .................................................. Egg
1/2tsp .......................................... Vanilla extract
Line 20x20cm pan with baking paper.
Mix flour, salt and cocoa powder together.
Mix the sugar with melted butter.
Mix in the eggs.
Mix in the food coloring.
Follow by vinegar and vanilla extract.
Fold in the flour mixture.
Fold until smooth.
Reserve 1/4cup for batter for decoration.
Fold in chopped walnuts.
Pour into the prepared pan, and smooth the top.
Mix all the cream cheese topping together until smooth.
Pour into the prepared pan.
Drop the reserved batter onto the cream cheese topping.
Use bamboo stick to create pattern.
Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.
