It's a simple magic, just cut the fat (whatever it is, butter or shortening) into the flour mixture, add the liquid then knead a bit and cut into pieces. You can make it in less than 30 minutes ^^, and it's always delicious!
This time I had a chance to try new product (again, haha, thank you so much P'Mic), this shortening is coming from King Rice bran oil company). It made from 100% rice bran oil and it's non-hydrogenated, so it is good for your health than other kinds of shortening.
Because shortening is 100% fat while the butter is about 80-85% fat (the rest is water and milk segment), it's good for making pastry (esp. pie crust or biscuit ^^).
I use this product in my dried cherry biscuits, but if you don't want to use shortening you can use all butter too, your biscuits will be a bit heavier than mine but it will be delicious too.
Serve it with a cup of tea, you can add jam or cream but I think I like to eat it plain.
