Pearl Balls ( 珍珠丸子) Meatballs with Sticky Rice

One of the food that I really like, and never become bored is dim sum, the variation and the taste are always interesting.

You may think that it's something that we can't make at home, but the fact is, there are many recipe that's not too hard to do, and it requires simple ingredients too. And today, I want to show you one of them. It's not only easy, this menu is very cute too.
You can make it easily, just by mixing the pork ball, rolling it in sticky rice, and steaming, no need to make any kind of dough. The only thing that you have to remember is, you need to soak the sticky rice (and dried shiitake) before using it, and the rest is too easy to talk about, haha. This recipe will serve 3-4 people but, you can double the recipe to suit your party size.

How are you lately? I feel like I didn't talk about myself for a while ^^, well, I still live my life the same way (and yes I have no problem with it). The only think that I did and make me excited (it's nothing to do with cooking or baking) was playing new RPG game (Octopath traveller on Switch platform). If you play this game too, please let me know, so we can talk about it.

 I use Thai sticky rice.

Put rice in a bowl and pour water into the bowl, mix quickly to remove some extra starch.  Drain the rice.

Soak the rice in water (about 3 cm above the rice),  for 3 hours (in summer)
or 6 hours in winter.

Soak the dried shiitake in water for 2 hours.

Drain the rice, and place in sheet pan.

 Chop the water chestnut.

Remove the shiitake, squeeze it lightly, and cut into small pieces.

Put the mince pork, carrot, water chestnut, shiitake, spring onion, and ginger into a bowl.

Pour soy sauce, Chinese wine, sesame oil, sugar and cornstarch.
Knead until they stick together.

 Roll into a ball (about 30 g).

 Press into the sticky rice.

 Steam for 20-25 minutes.

Serve with soy sauce, and enjoy!!!!
